Online Banking Fraud
At First Banking Center, we understand the importance of customer security. This is why we employ a variety of security measures when it comes to your online banking. These measures include but are not limited to account masking, data encryption, firewalls, secure socket layers, multifactor authentication, and secure tokens for Business Express customers.
If you are a user of online banking services, there are a variety of steps you can take to help ensure the privacy and security of your online account information. Following are some tips to assist you:
- Do not write your password down and never reveal your password to anyone; including a spouse, family or friends.
- First Banking Center personnel will never ask you for this information nor will they ask you to answer security questions associated with your online account.
- Create strong passwords (at least 8 characters long, with a combination of upper/lower case letters, numbers and punctuation).
- Change your password periodically.
- Don't use the same password for banking that you use for other online accounts.
- Maintain active, up-to-date antivirus, spyware, and firewall protection.
- Keep your operating system, browser and other applications updated with the latest security patches.
- Avoid transactions at wireless hot spots or Internet cafés.
- Notify First Banking Center personnel immediately if you notice any unusual account activity.
When you visit First Banking Center's website, cookies are collected. A cookie is a small piece of data that is presented by a web site to a web browser. The browser stores this piece of data and then returns it to the web site that provided it in the first place with each subsequent request for pages and images. In this way each browser can be provided with a unique cookie and be anonymously differentiated from other browsers viewing the site at the same time. Additionally, the browser can be asked to store a piece of information that will be sent back to the user later.
For additional online banking information, log into your online banking account and refer to the Service Agreement which is located in the Customer Service section, under Disclosures.
