Crop Insurance Calendar
The crop insurance program has numerous dates and deadlines that producers must adhere to. Timely filing of paperwork is essential to the program in order for your policy to attach correctly. Below is a calendar of these key crop insurance dates.
March 2010 Events
- March 15 - Sales Closing for Spring Crops - corn and soybeans (last day to sign up, make changes, or cancel policies)
April 2010 Events
- April 11 - First day to plant corn
- April 26 - First day to plant soybeans
May 2010 Events
- May 15 - Forage GRP Acreage Reporting Deadline
- May 31 - Final day to plant corn
June 2010 Events
- June 15 - Final day to plant soybeans
- June 25 - Final day to qualify for prevented planting (corn)
July 2010 Events
- July 1 - Premium billing date - 30 days to pay (wheat & forage)
- July 10 - Final day to qualify for prevented planting (soybeans)
- July 15 - Acreage Reporting Deadline Spring Crops (FSA 578s & Maps are needed to verify numbers)
August 2010 Events
- August 1 - Hail premium due (in order to receive 3% cash discount)
September 2010 Events
- September 30 - Sales Closing for Fall Crops - wheat and forage APH (last day to sign up, make changes, or cancel policies)
October 2010 Events
- October 1 - Premium billing date - 30 days to pay (corn, soybeans, & oats)
- October 10 - Final day to plant wheat
November 2010 Events
- November 14 - Production due on wheat and forage
- November 15 - Acreage Reporting Deadline for Wheat & Forage APH
- November 30 - Sales Closing for Forage GRP - not available in some counties (last day to sign up, make changes, or cancel policies)
December 2010 Events
- December 1 - Hail premium due
- December 10 - End of Insurance Period for Spring Crops
